He then taught English for seven years to freshmen and sophomores at Loyola High School in Los Angeles. During that time, he also coached baseball, tennis, and moderated the school newspaper.
In 2008, he enrolled at Pepperdine University School of Law. While in law school, he clerked for the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office for three semesters, and he was a member of the Honors Trial Team. In the fall of 2010, that team won the National Civil Trial Competition.
